~ Champagne Louis Roederer Portfolio ~
Chateau de Pez
Located in the western region of the Saint-Estèphe commune, the Château de Pez vineyard is the oldest in the Bordeaux region. The Château's longstanding reputation for excellence has plainly gained new lustre since its acquisition by the House of Louis Roederer in 1995. Recent tastings of the 2000 vintage confirm its return to the forefront of the wine scene.
Chateau Haut-Beausejour
This Saint-Estèphe cru bourgeois has gone from strength to strength since its acquisition by Louis Roederer in 1992 and the arrival of the young and talented winemaker Philippe Moureau. For Jean-Claude Rouzaud, 'Château Haut-Beausacute éjour represents a challenge based on an estate of extraordinary potential with the opportunity to create out of nowhere a wine with a whole new quality and image.

St Estephe Cru Bourgeois |

A richly coloured, deep red wine. The nose is a hedonist's delight: an endless array of red- and black-berry fruit, with notes of stewed apples and jam overlaid by discreet, elegantly classy hints of wood and aromas of spice and tobacco, smooth and long.

Chateau de Pez 2004 (RV) |
St Estephe Cru Bourgeois Exceptional |
|
The 2004 vintage is a lovely, solid color with dark red, almost purplish-blue highlights. The nose is packed with rich, complex, slightly jammy fruit, plus aromas of roasting and mocha from maturation in wood. It is very fresh, with floral, spicy notes. On the palate, the wine is a crisp, fleshy attack, followed by mouth-filling but not overly hard tannins. The wine grows richer and fatter by the moment but with no loss of elegance.

Haut Medoc
Cru Bourgeois

Dense ruby/purple with a spicy, resiny bouquet, a sweet entry on the palate, and admirable purity as well as texture, this is a classy blend of 65% Cabernet Sauvignon, 33% Merlot, and the balance Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot. Anticipated maturity: now-2012.
