This feels a bit short overall.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003ch4\u003e2023\u003c\/h4\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eBurghound 89-92:\u003c\/strong\u003e A very Vosne-like nose is comprised by exuberantly spicy notes of plum, various dark berries and a suggestion of exotic tea. The delicious and vibrant middle weight flavors are not particularly dense but they are at once succulent and seductive while delivering fine length on the better-balanced finale where a hint of bitter pit fruit character slowly emerges.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eVinous 90-92:\u003c\/strong\u003e The 2023 Vosne-Romanée Les Chaumes ler Cru has a wonderful bouquet with expressive brambly red fruit, crushed stone and undergrowth scents that convey a sense of transparency. The palate is medium-bodied with firm tannins. The fruit is a little blacker and earthier than the aromatics, but it feels long on the finish. Drink: 2034+.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eVinous 92-94:\u003c\/strong\u003e The 2022 Vosne-Romanée Les Beaux Monts 1er Cru was completely de-stemmed. It takes a while to get going on the nose, with hints of blackcurrant pastilles, rose petals and a touch of iodine. It becomes more floral with time. The medium-bodied palate has velvety smooth tannins and a fine bead of acidity, sorbet-fresh, with a hint of licorice developing on the finish. It will need some bottle age to smooth its edges. Very fine, but one for the more patient amongst you. Drink: 2029-2050.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eJasper Morris 93-95:\u003c\/strong\u003e A concentrated central core of intense purple which mirrors the intensity of the fruit on the palate. Possibly less nuanced than I have sometimes tasted it, but early days. A very refined finish. More to come later on the nose, I suspect. Perfectly judged ripeness in the fruit.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003ch4\u003e2023\u003c\/h4\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eBurghound 90-93♥:\u003c\/strong\u003e This is also mildly reduced but not so much that it gives me concerns about it cleaning up. On the palate, the energetic medium-bodied flavors are not, somewhat surprisingly, quite as fine but they do retain equally good punch on the balanced and lingering finale that is also sufficiently firmly structured to repay at least a decade of cellaring.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eVinous 93-95:\u003c\/strong\u003e The 2023 Vosne-Romanée Les Beaux Monts ler Cru has more Pinot Noir expression and delineation than the Les Petit Monts this yea-in fact, this is one of the domaine's finest aromatics with real complexity and nuance. The palate is medium-bodied with a smooth entry. This is very concentrated and leans more toward the richer side of Vosne-Romanée, though the acidity keeps it in check and there is a long tail on the finish. It has fine delineation. The palate is medium-bodied with slightly granular tannins. It's quite spicy, with just a touch of curry leaf toward the finish where the fruit turns a little blacker.
