The robe is a golden yellow, with green reflections, of beautiful intensity. The disk is bright, limpid, transparent. The wine shows a radiant youth. The nose is frank, pleasant, intense. One perceives a dominance of racy, over-ripe, exotic scents, mango, passion fruit, citrus fruit, grapefruit and a fine underlying floral note. Airing enhances the previous aromas and reveals banana, lychee, peony and a spiced candied ginger character. The heady nose renders the superb quality of the grapes. Very beautiful work !!!The onset in the mouth is ample, dense, fleshy. Mellow. The alcohol support is balanced. One evolves on a medium with a frank vivacity marked by a sparkling note. The range of aromas is reminiscent of the nose, dominated by exotic fruits, lychee, banana, mango, citrus fruits, grapefruit, as well as spices, candied ginger and peony. One can feel a hint of bitterness. The finish has a beautiful length, 9-10 caudalies and a fine, persistent vivacity. The balance of this wine is rich, but without being heavy. It caresses the palate and rouses it with its complex, extrovert, exuberant range of aromas, a very beautiful success.
1990
WA 93: Caramel and white chocolate flavors along with white peach and apricots aromas and minty notes on the nose of the 1990 Gewurztraminer Cuvée Christine Vendange Tardive lead to a light yet rich, very elegant, precise and sappy palate with a salty and tension-filled finish. The Kessler terroir still shines through here. Enjoy this wine over the next 5 or 10 years.
