Summer Dreams Lazy Lounging Chardonnay

Wine Advocate 93: The 2021 Chardonnay Lazy Lounging is a crisp, cool offering, loaded with gently grilled citrus and pineapple notes. It's medium to full-bodied, crisp, mouthwatering and long. It's not as broad or generous as the 2020 but longer and perhaps more elegant.

James Suckling 94: Ripe apple and dried mango with some pie crust and lemon curd. Full and layered with an oily and rich finish. Old Wente clone chardonnay in the Charles Heintz Vineyard. Drink now.

Lisa Perrotti-Brown 95: The 2021 Lazy Lounging Chardonnay comes from a couple of vineyardson the Sonoma Coast. It pops with bright, vivacious notes of candied ginger, nutmeg, and croissant that jump from the glass, giving way to a core of struck flint, green mango, fresh pineapple, and apple butter. The medium to full-bodied palate is creamy and spicy, with a lively backbone and long opulent finish.

Decanter 97: Fabulously rich and enticing aromas lead with sea spray minerality, and then comes a rush of lemon and lime zest, apricot fruit, and candied ginger with white flowers. A penetrating core of expressive orchard fruit is layered with minerals and crushed almonds. The full-bodied finish reveals aromatic spices of ginger and cardamom. A 100% Chardonnay from West Sonoma Coast and the Freestone-Occidental sub-AVA. Bâtonnage in expensive new French oak barriques and puncheons, aged up to 12 months in François Frères barrels.
