A snapshot of a year, this Rosé comes from 35 small staggered plots on the warm terroirs of Louis Roederer's “La Rivière” estate planted with Pinot noir, and the cooler limestone soils where the Chardonnay thrives.

Intense and fresh, this Rosé Vintage exudes small, acidic and finely crunchy red fruits. There is flesh and fullness, an expression that is always tactile and greedy. Great freshness, balance and lightness are its attributes, projected in a beautiful satin envelope and a saline perception.

Winemaker notes

Salmon pink hue with bright red tints. Deep, intense colour. The bubbles are fine yet vibrant and energetic. The summery bouquet shows exceptional intensity and freshness with its aromas of ripe, juicy stone fruit (wild peach) complemented by zesty red fruit (redcurrant) and citrus notes (blood orange). Upon aeration, the nose develops more jammy notes of Roussillon red apricot. The palate is soft, juicy and concentrated on entry and then quickly shows a chalky, saline freshness that structures the wine and lends it a voluptuous yet delicate mouthfeel. The juicy, ripe fruit (nectarine and wild peach) and citrus (lemon) give the wine a fresh, zesty character that is underpinned by a subtle hint of bitterness. The soft, delicate bubbles coat the palate and impart a velvety texture. The end palate is mouth-watering and ever so slightly salty with discreet tannins and a lovely subtle bitterness that complements the incredible dry chalkiness of the wine and lingers on the seemingly never-ending finish.

2012

Wine Advocate 91: Roederer's 2012 Brut Vintage Rosé is showing well, offering up pretty aromas of apples, freshly baked bread and tangerine. On the palate, it's medium to full-bodied, with a generous core of succulent fruit, a youthfully frothy but fine mousse, ripe acids and a precise, elegantly chalky finish. It's an elegant, textural rosé that's quite vinous for this cuvée.

James Suckling 95: A rich year with low yields and a perfectly warm summer. The nose is all chalky, oyster shell and dried berries. Plenty of powerful wild red fruit. Super focused with a very crisp, linear, acid drive. Pink grapefruit to close. A great vintage for this rosé. Drink now or hold – this has the structure to support some ageing.

2013

Wine Advocate 92+: The Roederer 2013 Brut Vintage Rosé has a lovely light pink color and opens with highly delicate red fruit and flowery aromas. The wine is light, fresh, pure, very delicate and stimulatingly salty. Very energetic and at the same time caressing. The finish displays pink grapefruit, blood orange and lime zest flavors. Highly stimulating in its purity, freshness and citrus character.

James Suckling 94: White fruit immediately on the nose, as well as some very strong lemon and lime notes. Some gently chalky notes, too, from the Chouilly chardonnay, which is super chalky. The palate has such focus and drive and a great, mineral core. Very long with a fresh line of acidity and peripheral, smooth flesh. Some pink grapefruit at the finish.
