Today, Domaine Marc Roy is led by Alexandrine Roy - fourth generation of the Roy family of growers in Gevrey. Since taking the helm as both winegrower and winemaker in 2003, she has over the years refined her wines into some of the most vibrant, delicate, Gevrey village wines made today. Managing nearly single-handedly, Alexandrine lovingly handles 3.5 hectares of Pinot Noir in Gevrey-Chambertin and 0.5 hectares in Marsannay.

Many of her vineyard parcels are over a century old, and she devotes exceptional attention to the land by regularly ploughing the soils to allow the roots to dig deep into the shallow limestone. Alexandrine treats her vines like her own children, attentive to their every need throughout the year. Her dedication is evident in the purity, vibrancy, and finesse of the wines produced here. Even though they are village wines, they are praised by wine critics and enthusiasts for tasting more like those from a premier or even grand cru vineyard.

Cuvée Alexandrine is an extraordinary wine, crafted exclusively from millerandage grapes harvested from the estate’s oldest vines, each over 100 years old. Its production requires a meticulous double selection process across twice the usual vineyard parcels, resulting in a wine that embodies Grand Cru distinction, exceptional depth, and unparalleled complexity.
