The Only Comtesse With Finesse - Pichon Comtesse Reserve

“(Reserve de la Comtesse) taste more like a Grand Vin than a second wine.” - Jeb Dunnuck

Formally known as Reserve de la Comtesse, this is the second wine of the prestigious second growth – Chateau Pichon-Longueville Comtesse de Lalande. Since 2018, this second wine not only got an exterior revamp, it has since been renamed Pichon Comtesse Reserve.

Nestled within the Pauillac appellation, the property is ideally located right next to Chateau Latour and a street away from Chateau Pichon Baron. With a rich history that dates back all the way to 1694, this gem is currently owned by one of the top Champagne houses’ – Champagne Louis Roederer.

It's hard to not award this as one of Bordeaux best value for money. Not only is this a charming wine that is readily accessible in its youth – the make-up of this second wine benefits from the same technology as the Grand Vin, but also the same soil and a reputation that can outwit many others.

“There is a real swagger about this wine, not only showing balance, purity and grace, but also bringing on that definite wow factor in each vintage.”
