Ramos Pinto is an award-winning Portuguese wine producer, best known for its Port wines.
Founded in 1880 by Adriano Ramos Pinto, since 1990, Ramos Pinto has been owned by the Louis Roederer Champagne house, further strengthening its global presence.
Famous for its rich, structured, and long-lived Ports. They own prime vineyards in the Cima Corgo and Douro Superior sub-regions, ensuring high-quality fruit. The Douro Valley, located in northern Portugal, is one of the world’s oldest and most celebrated wine regions. Its winemaking history spans over 2,000 years, with a unique combination of steep terraced vineyards, schist soils, indigenous grape varieties, and extreme climatic conditions shaping the region’s distinctive wines. The Douro became the first officially demarcated wine region in the world, almost a century before Bordeaux's classification (1855).
Inspired by the Rhône Valley and Bordeaux, producers focused on structured, terroir-driven dry wines. Steep terraces and heroic viticulture (hand-harvesting on extreme slopes) remain hallmarks of Douro winemaking. A focus on organic farming, minimal intervention, and single-quinta wines (single vineyard expressions) defines the new era.
Ramos Pinto Duas Quintas Branco - Light yellow-green, silver reflections. Fine pear fruit, a hint of mango, fresh orange zest, a hint of honey blossom. Medium body, fine pear fruit, fresh, stimulating acidity, salty aftertaste, subtle honey blossom on the finish.
Ramos Pinto Duas Quintas Tinto - Always a nice choice at a nice price, this seem solid and it is always perky. This is a very nice year for freshness, but everything is perfectly integrated too. It seems solid enough for food, elegant enough to drink on its own. It's hard to go wrong with this balanced wine at this price.
[Staff Favourite] NV Ramos Pinto Fine White - Intense, fresh, fruity. The natural sweetness of the grape balanced with freshness. Versatile consumption all year long. Should always be served chilled. Open to pour by the glass and the bottle will endure for months to come.
[Best Value] 2017 Ramos Pinto LBV Porto - A generously textured wine, this has great tannins as well as powerful black fruits. Its ripeness has a shot of acidity to keep it fresh while it ages. It is certainly on the dry side, very firm at the end and needing time. Drink from 2032.
NV Ramos Pinto Tawny Reserva Adriano - A premium Reserva Tawny Port that pays tribute to the house’s founder, Adriano Ramos Pinto. It is a carefully crafted blend of matured tawny Ports aged in oak barrels, offering a balance of complexity, richness, and freshness.

NV Ramos Pinto Tawny 30 yrs - This Port is a triumph. Its age and its concentration are on one side of an equation that brings out the elegance of the style of this producer and the balance of sweetness, dark-toffee flavors and acidity are on the other. The wine is very ready to drink.
