Faiveley Mercurey Blanc "Clos Rochette" Monopole

This parcel neighbours La Framboisière. The soils in Clos Rochette are very compact, hard to plough and scattered with small rocks that give this climat its name. This parcel has been one of the Domaine's Monopoles since 1933.

Winemaker notes

This wine reveals exceptionally complex aromas and a fresh nose offering white flowers and spices. The lively attack gives way to a smooth, oily palate thanks to its oak ageing. The flavours and aromas combine harmoniously resulting in a beautifully elegant wine.

2020

Wine Advocate 91: The 2020 Mercurey Blanc Clos Rochette offers up attractive aromas of pear, orange oil, clear honey, nutmeg, anise and freshly baked bread. Medium to full-bodied, ample and satiny, with lively acids, chalky structure and a saline finish, it will offer a broad drinking window.

James Suckling 92: An elegant and well-structured Mercurey with fine candied-citrus and vanilla-bean aromas. Plenty of ripeness, but no hint of heaviness. In fact, this has wonderful freshness, thanks to the delicate, flinty character that drives the long and fresh finish. Drink or hold.
