The village of Volnay is renowned for its elegant red wines. This wine exudes aromas of small red and black fruits complemented by spicy notes and a touch of oak. Its rich flavours and silky smooth tannins make it an absolute pleasure for the palate.

Burghound 90-92: Ripe but agreeably fresh and pretty aromas feature notes of plum, dark pinot, spice and wafting violet scents. The super-sleek, intense and refined middle weight flavors possess excellent delineation on the refreshingly saline-inflected, firm and very serious finish that is complex, long and youthfully austere. Patience advised.

Wine Advocate 91-93: The 2018 Volnay 1er Cru Frémiets offers up an inviting bouquet of red berries, wild plums, spices and rich soil tones, followed by a medium to full-bodied, concentrated and elegantly proportioned palate, built around ripe acids and powdery, fine-grained tannins. From a 0.75-hectare parcel of old vines, this is a fine Frémiets in the making.
