Collection: Volnay: "Iron Fist in a Velvet Glove"

Often likened to its neighbour Pommard, Volnay produces smooth-structured, perfumed wines of surprising longevity - an exemplary "iron fist in a velvet glove". Situated between the powerful reds of Pommard and the rich whites of Meursault, Volnay is renowned for producing some of the most delicate Pinot Noir wines in the southern Côte d'Or. While lacking grand cru status, more than half of Volnay's vineyards (34 in total) are designated as Premier Cru. These premier sites are concentrated in a narrow band of high-quality terroir stretching across Volnay from Pommard to Meursault.
