Fugue de Nenin
Fugue de Nenin
2015
James Suckling 92: A firmness and focus to this second wine with plum, chocolate and walnut character. Full to medium body, pretty tannins and a long and fresh finish. A beauty. Second wine from Nenin.
Vinous 90: I am pleasantly surprised to find the 2015 Fugue de Nénin in such great shape. Juicy and inviting, with no hard edges and terrific presence, the Fuque de Nénin is everything a second wine should be. Drink this forward Pomerol over the next handful of years, while the red berry fruit retains its youthful freshness.
2023
James Suckling 92-93: This is so elegant and sophisticated already, with a really electric presence and length that goes on and on. It's medium- to full-bodied with an intensity of tannins. It remains weightless and energetic. The pH is 3.41, making this a vivid and lively wine. Currant, orange and stone. Sea salt, too. The limestone soils created a unique wine here in 2023. A blend of 71% merlot and 29% cabernet franc.
