Bottle Size: 750ml

Defines the modern, cult Napa Cabernet style, albeit at a hefty price. Soft and rich tannins and liberally oaked, it shows massively ripe blackberry, cherry and sandalwood flavors, with a meaty, slightly funky note that adds interest. Easy to like right out of the bottle, it's so decadent.

2017

Wine Advocate 96: "The cool clay at Kayli Morgan vineyard really weathered well the 2017 heat wave," said proprietor Jayson Woodbridge. Featuring a deep garnet-black color, the 2017 Cabernet Sauvignon Kayli Morgan Vineyard has a profound nose of fruitcake, crème de cassis, baked plums and forest floor, with touches of hoisin, charcuterie and clove oil. The full-on, full-bodied palate is rich and seductive, offering a sturdy frame of chewy tannins and a lively backbone, finishing very spicy and long.

2018

Wine Advocate 96+: Situated toward the base of Howell Mountain, too low to be included in that AVA, the 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon Kayli Morgan Vineyard boasts ample complexity in its scents of pine needles, blueberries and cassis, all framed by vanilla and cedar. Did I mention lots of vanilla? It's a full-bodied wine, silky-plush and almost too easy to drink, with a long, menthol-tinged finish.

Jeb Dunnuck 99: Starting off an incredible lineup of 2018s, the 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon Kayli Morgan Vineyard has a purple/blue hue as well as a powerful bouquet of ripe blackcurrants, blueberries, smoked tobacco, and new leather, with a kiss of background graphite. Full-bodied, utterly seamless, and flawlessly balanced, it's impossible to resist today yet will cruise for 20-25 years in cold cellars.

2019

Lisa Perrotti-Brown 100: Deep garnet-purple in color, the 2019 Morgan's Way Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon bursts with flamboyant notes of black cherries, blackcurrant preserves, and blackberry pie with nuances of Chinese five spice, spearmint, and cast-iron pan. The full-bodied palate is tightly wound with firm, perfectly ripe, fine-grained tannins and fantastic tension supporting the muscular bright black and red fruits, finishing long and minerally.

Wine Advocate 97+: From the 2019 vintage, Kayli Morgan will transition to being called Morgan's Way, although the vineyard sourcing remains the same. The 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon Morgan's Way delivers waves of ripe cherry, Madagascar vanilla and cigar box aromas, while the full-bodied palate is velvety and taut at the same time, that tension providing great liveliness and length on the mouthwatering finish.

Jeb Dunnuck 97: The 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon Morgan's Way comes from old volcanic and clay soils (there's some obsidian as well), and it reminded me of great vintage of Le Pin from Pomerol with its exotic, sexy, full-bodied, incredibly gorgeous profile. Offering ripe red and black fruits, spicy oak, vanilla, lead pencil, and tobacco-like aromas and flavors, it's impossible to resist today, but this has 20 years of life ahead of it as well. It's a classic, brilliantly done 2019
