This climat is situated alongside the former Roman road that links the town of Auxerrre with the town of Tonnerre. As extension of the Grand crus, this is the most diverse of the premiere crus with a very complete profile : mineral, floral, oiliness body and rich character.

Beautiful white gold hue with greenish tinges. This 1er Cru offers an exceptional aromatic profile with mineral notes and spice. Palate: the perfect balance between strength, freshness, sweet fruity notes and intense floral aromas. A complex, elegant and remarkably harmonious wine.

Burghound 91-94♥: An exuberantly floral-suffused nose displays additional aromas of tidal pool, citrus zest and plenty of iodine character. The racy and notably finer, if less powerful and generous middle weight flavors flash evident minerality on the youthfully austere bitter lemon-inflected finish that goes on and on. Excellent potential here.

Burghound 91-94♥: A cool, airy and beautifully elegant nose freely offers up its array of lemon confit, acacia blossom and a plenty of classic Chablis elements and in particular iodine. The refined mouthfeel of the middle weight flavors is very much in keeping with the elegance of the nose with a prominent bead of minerality adding a sense of lift to the long, balanced and refreshingly dry finale. This is excellent and one to consider.

Decanter 93: Delightful, the aromatic concentration of lemon peel, green apple and salty, oyster-shell minerality boasts more concentration than many of the grands crus. The texture seduces with surprising density, perfectly balanced by lively acidity, driving the wine to a lingering finish. The grapes are from just over 2ha in the lieux-dits of Pied d'Aloup and Côte de Bréchain that fall under the Montée de Tonnerre umbrella; they are fermented and aged in tank.
