Château d’Aqueria’s Lirac blanc is fresh and fruity, elegant and luscious. It is a pure expression of the great southern terroirs. Produce of limestone scree soils, this wine is a blend of mainly Grenache Blanc enhanced with Clairette, Roussanne and a touch of Viognier.

Eye: Pale yellow colour with shiny green hints.

Nose: Delicate and complex with aromas of fruit (peaches), white flowers (acacia, honeysuckle) and some exotic notes.

Mouth: A delicate and smooth attack with floral and fruit notes. A lovely minerality and a remarkable fresh finish bring the perfect balance overall.

James Suckling 92: A medium-bodied Lirac with notes of white peaches, flowers, beeswax and hints of cooked lemons. Round and well-balanced with a fruity and juicy finish. Grenache blanc 40%, Bourboulenc 25%, Clairette 16%, Roussanne 12%, Viognier 7%. Drink now.

James Suckling 91: Stone fruits, cedar and oak spices on the nose. Medium body with a succulent core of fruit and spices on the mid-palate and a comforting, delicious finish. Grenache blanc, clairette, roussanne, bourboulenc and viognier. Drink or hold.

James Suckling 92: Charming, textured and focused white from Lirac, next to Chateauneuf-du-Pape. The nose reveals notes of spiced apples, quince peel, orange blossoms, flowers and mild spices. It’s medium-bodied with bright acidity. Vertical with good tension on the palate and a vibrant finish. Positive bitterness carries through. Drink or hold.

Decanter 93: A particularly floral expression, with oak spice notes bringing complexity but not dominating. Lovely texture and will work well on the dinner table. Saline, sapid finish. Limestone terroir, vinified in demi-muids, one third new.
