2021

AG 91-92: Les Romains is a flint and chalk parcel that sits on the outskirts of the town of Sancerre, and the 2021 vintage gives a refined and elegant expression.  There's tenderness through the core, which is scented with nettle and elderflower notes, pear and just-ripe pineapple, which linger long on the finish.  Tasted as a finished sample in tank.

2020

AG 91: Les Romains is a vineyard with its feet in flint to the east of the fault line in Sancerre. The 2020 Sancerre Les Romains begins with a fruity and open welcome, blossoming and silken in the mouth before tying the wine up; the flint influence acts like a belt on a pair of trousers tightening up the middle and leaving a sensation of sinew and length with a fine nettley fragrance.
