“This is a great wine for the future and for sharing, which connects us to our terroirs and tells our story”. Jean-François Ott
Étoile offers a very different expression of the Ott⋆ vineyards. It is a very unusual wine and the only one capable of expressing the richness and diversity of our vineyards as a whole. It is an author’s wine, stepping outside the official appellations, the fruit of the free-thinking of a wine artisan.
James Suckling 94: This is a delicate and balanced rosé with subtle notes of peaches and wild strawberries and touches of seashells, crushed stone and dried Mediterranean herbs. Medium-bodied, sleek and polished, with freshness and excellent poise. Classy, elegant, pristine and almost weightless, yet it holds a lot of depth and mineral complexity that unveils toward its long finish. From organically grown grapes. Drink or hold.
Vinous 95: Diaphanous pink. Highly expressive, mineral-tinged red berry, honeydew melon and nectarine aromas show excellent focus, and a suave floral nuance emerges with air. Palate-staining peach nectar, raspberry and honeysuckle flavors are given lift and back-end cut by a minerally undercurrent. Concentrated but impressively lithe as well. There's a resonating mineral quality on the penetrating finish, which leaves behind a lingering floral note. - Josh Raynolds
James Suckling 94: A precise, well-built and seductive rosé with aromas of forest berries, dried orange peel and fresh flowers on the nose. It’s medium-bodied with bright acidity. Attractive character on the palate, with texture and poise. It has plenty of verve and focus, with a long finish. From organically grown grapes. Drink or hold.
Wine Spectator 91: Light in hue, this rosé is round and creamy in feel, featuring light wild berry and white cherry, with smoky mineral undercurrents. Shows flinty, salty depth, with white flowers, fresh-cut chives and herbs adding intrigue to the silky and persistent finish. Grenache and Mourvèdre. Drink now through 2028.
