Fourrier Gevrey Chambertin 1er Cru Les Cherbaudes Vielle Vignes

Wine Advocate 92: Rich and dramatic, the 2018 Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru Cherbaudes bursts with aromas of ripe cherries, dark chocolate, plums and cassis, complemented by hints of rose petals and loamy soil. Medium to full-bodied, layered and textural, this is nicely balanced in its gourmand, fleshy style.

Decanter 96: Located just below the Clos de Bèze, on very hard, rocky soils, Cherbaudes is often one of the more muscular and concentrated wines in the Fourrier line up. Dense and pretty powerful, with dark bramble and black cherry fruit, stylishly expressed 20% new wood, lots of violet perfume, layers of tannin and enough acidity and zip for balance. Ripe but harmonious.
