Wine Advocate 91+: The 2020 La Petite Eglise reveals aromas of sweet cherries and berries mingled with petals and loamy soil, followed by a medium to full-bodied, lively and concentrated palate that's rather firm and serious this year. It will reward patience. Only 4,500 bottles were produced from dedicated parcels.

James Suckling 96: Lots of blackberries and blueberries with crushed stone and cement aromas and flavors. Medium- to full-bodied with polished tannins that are lightly chewy and tensioned. Long and flavorful. Needs four to five years to soften. Best after 2027.

Wine Advocate 89+: Unwinding in the glass with aromas of spices plums, currants, licorice and toasty oak, the 2021 La Petite Eglise is medium to full-bodied, deep and layered, with a fleshy core of fruit that's framed by chalky, youthfully structuring tannins. It's one second wine that will require a bit of patience.

James Suckling 95: The violets come out of the glass alongside plenty of cherries and hints of sliced peaches. Medium-bodied with a solid center palate of fruit and ultra-fine tannins that give length and drive. Structured and polished, leading to a finish that goes on for minutes. 90% merlot and 10% cabernet franc.

Vinous 92: The 2021 La Petite Eglise is an intriguing wine, although it naturally lacks the dynamic energy of the best years. Succulent red cherry, blood orange, cinnamon, new leather, spice and cedar all meld together. Gracious and supple, with tons of charm, La Petite Eglise is quite seductive in 2021.

Wine Advocate 92-94: There will only be some 4,700 bottles of the 2022 La Petite Eglise, a cuvée that combines some younger-vine fruit with two dedicated parcels, one located next to Pomerol's church, the other by the château of La Fleur-Pétrus. Offering up aromas of cherries, sweet berries, incense, dark chocolate and petals, it's medium to full-bodied, supple and fleshy, with a suave, seamless, elegant profile, retaining a bright core of fruit and refined tannins in this warm vintage.

James Suckling 96: There's a minerality to this with dark-berry, cedar, dried-flower and sandalwood aromas following through to a medium to full body. Ultrafine tannins run the length of the wine. It’s racy and focused at the end. A muscular yet beautifully formed red from L'Eglise Clinet. Drink after 2028.

Vinous 93: The 2022 La Petite Eglise is one of the go-to wines from Pomerol, a second label acting more like a Grand Vin. This offers irresistible purity on the nose, featuring blackberry, truffle, walnut oil and a background scent of dark chocolate. The palate is medium-bodied with a silky texture from the start, exquisite balance, perfectly judged acidity and a razor-sharp finish that beckons you back for the next sip. It is wonderful.

James Suckling 94-95: A salty red with fresh acidity and vivid, very polished bright fruit. It’s medium-bodied with a lovely center palate and a defined finish. Very typical and classy. A blend of 90% merlot and 10% cabernet franc.

Vinous 91-93: The 2025 La Petite Eglise is a very pretty, open-knit second wine. It offers fine persistence and balance. I find it just a touch light texturally, perhaps because this vintage includes a bit of fruit from relatively young vines. The 2025 might not quite have the depth or complexity of the very best years, but it comes close. Best of all, it will drink beautifully on release.
