From Marc Roy estate's oldest vines, only the Millerandage grapes, meaning the grapes that are naturally smaller and concentrated. It requires a doubly long selection process and twice as many locations to create this cuvée with Grand Cru complexity, sans the Grand Cru price tag. 100+ year old vines. Destemmed, indigenous yeast. Aged in barrel (50% New). The cuvée "Alexandrine" was created in 2005 to showcase Alexandrine's talent.

Burghound 90♥: A perfumed, ripe and very fresh nose speaks mostly of wild dark currant, anise and more discreet wood influence. There is better mid-palate density to the energetic and well-detailed flavors that coat the mouth on the youthfully austere, long and better-balanced finale. Lovely and worth checking out.
Decanter 94: This wine features alluring ripe mulberry fruit aromas with hints of minerals and spice. The texture boasts impressive ripeness and density while retaining the freshness typical of the vintage, and firm tannins carry us to a lingering finish. The wine is produced from tiny grape clusters produced from six old vine parcels in En Jouise, Carougeot, Les Murots, Les Crais, Vignes Belles, and Les Seuvrées. The grapes are destemmed and gently fermented before ageing in cask (50% new). This wine is among the top village-level Gevreys of the vintage.

Burghound 90♥: A more complex and spicier nose of both red and dark berries is trimmed in discreet yet easily perceptible wood. Somewhat curiously given the fruit from which this is made, the palate impression of the middleweight flavors is not super-dense, indeed this isn't more concentrated than the Clos Prieur (though by no means dilute).
Vinous 89-91: The 2022 Gevrey-Chambertin Cuvée Alexandrine has the most floral bouquet of the three tasted from Roy, red fruit commingling with subtle mocha scents and brown spices. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannins, again, just a tad savory in style, finishing with a dab of spice. This should drink well for several years, possibly more.

Burghound 92♥: As is usually the case, this is the most complex wine in the range and it is again in 2023 with its combination of dark berry, earth, tea, floral and forest floor scents. There is excellent volume and even better density to the solidly powerful medium-bodied flavors that are at once fine but muscular, all wrapped in an impressively long and well-balanced finale. One to buy.
Vinous 91-93: The 2023 Gevrey-Chambertin Cuvée Alexandrine has the finest aromatics of the four cuvées tasted from the domaine. It has fine delineation with vivacious red berry fruit, wild hedgerow and allspice aromas. The palate is medium-bodied with sculpted tannins. It is lightly spiced with a precise and quite mineral-driven finish. This is very fine and classy.
