James Suckling 92: Blueberry and lavender aromas with hints of chocolate follow through to a medium body, with round tannins that are lightly firm and deliver lovely flavors. Shows balance and harmony. Drink or hold.

Vinous 92: The 2021 Monbousquet is a very pretty wine. Crushed flowers, red cherry fruit, plum, mocha, licorice and rose petal are nicely lifted. In 2021, Monbousquet is delicate, savory and super-expressive, with a saline-tinged finish. Give it a few years.

Decanter 90: Smoky and slightly spicy on the nose, chocolate and cherries with soft floral scents. Tight and nicely constructed, still lean - the tannins have a salty grip on the tongue, but there's good depth of dark fruit with just chalky, powderiness on the finish. Really dark fruit. Nice acidity, not plump, more straight with lashings of liquorice and bitter tones on the finish.

James Suckling 94: Intense blackberry and blueberry aromas. Perfumed. Full-bodied and layered with soft and silky tannins and pretty fruit with just a hint of coffee in the finish. Chocolate, meat and berries at the end as well. Really attractive now but will age beautifully. Fruit-forward style. Better after 2028.

Vinous 93: The 2022 Monbousquet is sumptuous and exotic in the glass. Soft, plush contours lend notable immediacy. Blueberry jam, mocha, spice, new leather and licorice caress the palate as this open-knit, inviting Saint-Émilion shows off its considerable allure.
