Elegant like its big brother, Petit CARO is also a blend of Malbec and Cabernet Sauvignon, aged for 12 months in barrels. The grapes come from selected plots of old vines in the historic region of Luján de Cuyo and from new high-altitude terroirs in the Uco valley, about 100 km south of Mendoza.

2021: Deep velvety red color with intense ruby hues. Very fruity and fresh on the nose, followed by aromas of red fruit, strawberry and black currant. On the palate, the wine is long, well Balanced and pleasant, with refined tannins. Displaying generous aromas of red berries.

Decanter 94: In the tradition of Bordeaux's grand cru classés, Bodegas Caro produces a second wine that mirrors the house’s core style. A bright ruby-red in hue, the wine offers red and black fruit, blackcurrant, hints of violets, old spice, flowers, and graphite. On the palate, it’s indulgent with a velvety texture and substantial body. The firm tannins promise excellent ageing potential, kept in harmony by the accomplished acidity. Petit Caro 2021 is a blend of 69% Malbec, 30% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 1% Ancellotta from Luján de Cuyo and Paraje Altamira in the Uco Valley.

Wine Advocate 93: The 2022 Petit Caro is 62% Malbec, 35% Cabernet Sauvignon and 3% Cabernet Franc sourced from Luján de Cuyo and Paraje Altamira. It fermented in stainless steel and matured in equal parts concrete and barrique for 12 months. A deep, expressive nose of black fruits, flowers and tobacco develops around a gently toasty core, introducing a velvety, rich palate lifted by focused acidity. It concludes with a lush finish framed by polished tannins and a composed, high-toned focus that gains energy with aeration.

Vinous 94: The 2022 Petit Caro combines 62% Malbec, 35% Cabernet Sauvignon and 3% Cabernet Franc from Paraje Altamira, La Consulta and Agrelo. Half of the wine spent 12 months in oak barrels. Deep purple in hue, it reveals fine oak and cedar notes with a balsamic hint alongside a cherry core. The juicy palate also offers lightly chalky tannins and a subtle saline touch. A savory red with a moderately concentrated mouthfeel.
