Pinino Brunello di Montalcino DOCG

Pinino’s Brunello embodies the productive philosophy, the values connected to the environmental typicality, the expertise and passion both in the vineyards and the cellar: a carefully selected blend of the grapes produced in the two areas where the vineyards are, which translates in a wine with an intense ruby red colour, in which aromas of blackberries and plums blend with hints of spices. In the mouth it’s velvety, full-bodied and smooth.

Wine Advocate 93: The Ferragamo family had some limited involvement with winemaking in this vintage; however, the acquisition of the estate would not be completed until 2024. The Pinino 2020 Brunello di Montalcino shows a lot of lively and bright fruit with ripe summer cherry on the front line. The wine fills out over the palate with a silky mouthfeel and fine tannins. Oak aging for this wine usually extends to 36 months.

James Suckling 92: A juicy and savory red with terra cotta, cedar and dried flower aromas and flavors. Medium-bodied with pine cone, cherry and dried mushroom character and hints of bark and spices. Lightly chewy and flavorful. Drink now or hold.

Vinous 91: Licorice melds into pomegranate and cedar shavings as the perfumed 2020 Brunello di Montalcino forms up in the glass. This is a graceful and cool-toned effort, boasting pretty wild berry fruits and a crunchy mineral thrust propelled by vibrant acidity. Staining and long, the 2020 leaves a sour cherry concentration to mingle with hints of citrus through the subtly structured and slightly tart finale.

Wine Enthusiast 95: The nose is floral and saline, with aromas of rose petals, peonies, mandarin blossoms and new leather. On the palate, flavors of salt, citrus and raspberry create a buoyant, lively feel, while fine grained tannins add a refined feel. An impressively slick turnaround for this property.
