Potinet Ampeau Meursault 1er Cru Les Charmes

“Les Charmes” is located to the south of the Village and is considered one of the finest plots producing Meursault appellation. The well-drained mineral soil is ideal for Chardonnay. According to Saint-Jacob, the word “Charmes” referred to old communal fields which were once cultivated but then went fallow.  It could also refer to woods of hornbeam (“charme”) trees.

This well-balanced wine has a nice golden yellow color. It is a rich expression of Meursault with the nose having white flowers and yellow fruits notes. The palate is mineral and has honey, butter, oak, caramel, citrus and grapefruit notes. This wine is full of life with a nice acidity, a very good length, an aromatic finish and lots of elegance. It has a very nice harmony between intensity and a refreshing acidity.

Ideal with poultry, veal in cream sauce, foie gras, blue cheese or high-end seafood such as lobster and crayfish.
