Probably the most famous of Alsace wines, the Traminer comes from the north from Italy and date from the 16th century. Gewurztraminer (literally Traminer spicy or musk) is a selection of the most aromatic Trambles and became Gewurztraminer around 1950.
The dress is lemon yellow with light green reflections, of good intensity. The disc is shiny, clear and transparent. Wine is young. The nose is frank, pleasant and intense. We feel a dominant of exotic smells, citrus fruits, candied orange, grapefruit, pear, peach, mango, passion fruit. Aeration amplifies these odors and reveals a floral note, the rose and the spices, the ginger, the curry. The nose is remarkable for freshness, exoticism. The palette has a bright and shaved complexity.
Vinous 90: The 2023 Gewurztraminer Les Princes Abbées combines honeysuckle and Damask rose aromas on the nose. It's subtle and yet heady, like a garden at dusk. A touch of mandarin peel completes the aromatic picture. The palate redoubles on these flavors, intensifying them with a darker aspect and some peppery spice.
