The Riesling is the noblest and finest grape variety of Alsace. Introduced in the 15th century from Rhineland, it is supposed to be in fact originating from the Orleans region. It is very different from its German homologue and from the many other Rieslings that are now appearing all over the world. Schlumberger's Riesling is planted essentially in the locality of Bollenberg and in the vines of Saering and Kessler, and also in the young vineyards of the Kitterlé.

The dress is lemon yellow with green reflections, of good intensity. The disc is bright, clear and transparent. Wine is young. The nose is frank, pleasant, beautiful intensity. Dominated by citrus smells, the zest of lime, white flowers, fine plant, blackcurrant leaf. Aeration amplifies these smells and reveals an exotic carambole register, spices, ginger and noble smoke. The nose has a ripe register and bright, in the vintage of vintage. The grapes were returned to the perfect moment. The mouth attack is moderately large, full-bodied. We evolve on a medium sharp, pearl. The range of aromas recalls the nose, citrus fruits, the zest of lime, white flowers, fine plant, spices, ginger and always, watermark, this underlying smoke. The final has a length average, 5-6 caudalies, as well as frank liveliness. The tense balance, typical of vintage, is digestive and precise. The range of mapped aromas provides a nice feeling of freshness.

James Suckling 91: Fresh Asian pear, white peach, acacia honey and lemon aromas. It’s bright, dry and medium-bodied with floral and mineral elements. Minerally and pristine finish. Always has 30% grand cru fruit. Drink now.

Wine Enthusiast 90: This wine is all business on the nose, with stony aromas and a spritz of lemon. The palate is similarly focused and driven. Lemon-lime acidity drives taut minerality in this light-bodied sip. The finish is long and saline, with tangy Granny Smith notes giving it some lift. Pair with creamy cheeses for a refreshing palate-cleanse.

Wine Enthusiast 89: This white begins with peach and citrus notes, along with the vibrant structure. The acidity takes over from midpalate through the persistent, mouthwatering finish.
