Domaine Billaud Simon's prestigious parcel selection. The ambassador of the Domaine, it's a wine of gold and light par excellence. The nose discloses aromas of citrus and white flowers. The palate is rich, smooth and opulent with the perfect balance between a smooth texture, lively acidity, discreet minerality and fruit.

Burghound 89-91♥: Here there is notably better typicity with its nose of ripe pear, mineral reduction and algae. The sleek, delicious and more voluminous flavors that possess solid mid-palate density while displaying good precision on the clean, dry and sneaky long finale. This is worth checking out.
Decanter 91: Much more concentration than Billaud-Simon's Petit Chablis. Mineral notes on the palate add an extra dimension to the apple fruit character, cut with bright lemon citrus acidity. With some white flower notes on the nose, this is a classy example of AP Chablis which will benefit from a further six months in bottle.

Burghound 87-89: A fruit, bright and citrusy nose offers just enough typicity to be persuasive. There is good density and reasonably good energy to the round and delicious flavors that terminate in an agreeably dry lemon-tinged finish where the only nit is a touch of warmth. This should drink well young but a few years of keeping should help to add depth.

Burghound 86-89: A fresh, bright and citrusy nose freely offers up its array of green fruit and convincing Chablis elements, in particular quinine. There is both good volume and punch to the delicious middle weight flavors that exude a subtle minerality on the youthfully austere and zest-inflected finish. This is pretty if a bit simple today so a year or two of cellaring should help.
Decanter 91: The bright, citrussy fruit of the Billaud-Simon Petit Chablis provides a charming and accessible entry point for the range. The texture is light and fresh, and the balance is thoroughly correct. The grapes are from 1.33ha on the plateau above Les Clos (lieu-dit Sur Les Clos, but can't be labelled as such). This vintage is 100% tank fermented and aged, although this is not always the case.
