Second wine of Chateau la Gaffeliere. Clos la Gaffelière is raised with as much care as the first vintage of the family of Malet Roquefort, Château La Gaffelière. It comes from the plot selections of the coast feet and then vinified by the Gaffelière teams. However, it has a specific cuvier and cellar. Depending on the vintage, the harvest of young hills vines can be added to it.The assembly is mainly made up of Merlot at more than 85% and Cabernet Franc.

Decanter 92: Dark and ripe on the nose, tangy and fresh, a lovely clean, crisp aspect to the strawberry, red cherry and creamy vanilla blueberries giving freshness and cool minerality. Well delivered, has a style about this with definition and detail and above all really appealing acidity that gives lift and a lot of life. Should round out nicely offering lots of easy drinking appeal and unfussy enjoyment. 3.5pH. 3.7 g/L total acidity. Ageing for 12 months, 50% new barrels, 50% steel.

Jane Anson 94: Concentrated with a ton of spice, bright and powerful dark cassis and bilberry fruit, and a saline kick on the finish. One of the real value wines of the vintage, has a huge sense of character, great architecture, and silky tannins.

Jeb Dunnuck 92: The second wine of Château La Gaffelière, the 2022 Clos La Gaffelière is a beautiful Saint-Émilion offering blue fruits, violets, and a touch of chalky earth and spice. Medium-bodied, pure, and layered, it has solid, ripe tannins and a well-balanced, elegant profile. Drink bottles over the coming decade.
