A wine filled with fruit and all the charm and spiciness of Syrah from the Northern Rhône together with freshness and balance.

Eye : Dark and deep colour.
Nose : Red fruits, cherry and strawberry with delicate oak aromas.
Palate : A structured tannic wine. Aromas of blackcurrant buds and vanilla.

Overall : Remarkable freshness with notable and refined tannins to due long oak ageing.

Wine Advocate 90: Notes of lilac, iris and dark cherries introduce the 2021 Crozes-Hermitage from Maison E. Guigal, a medium- to full-bodied, round and sappy wine built around a juicy core of fruit and concluding with a long, charming finish.

James Suckling 91: A prototypical Crozes-Hermitage, at the lighter end of the scale for this appellation, but with the juicy briar character we expect from this appellation. Supple tannins underline all this very nicely. Plenty of dried herbs in the finish. Drink now.

Wine Enthusiast 92: A classic and rustic expression, this wine showcases rich red cherries and currants, with subtle notes of cedar, fine herbs, and violet aromas. Fruit-forward yet alluringly savory, it offers youthful tannins that coat the mouth, supporting a midpalate of lush black plum, charcuterie, and light black tea. The finish is defined by a fine granitic edge. Enjoy now with a proper decant, or cellar through 2035+.

Wine Advocate 91: Gently reduced at this early stage, the 2022 Crozes Hermitage wafts from the glass with aromas of iris, lilac, flowers and dark cherries, followed by a medium- to full-bodied, fleshy and round palate that is perfectly balanced with a seamless core of fruit and a long finish with inflections of dark berries. This is a classic.
