Eye : Dark red with violet tints. Nose : Powerful nose dominated by red berries and delicate oak aromas. Palate : Powerful attack. Round and supple tannins.
2020
Wine Advocate 89-91:Guigal's 2020 Saint-Joseph is full-bodied, but it lacks the richness or density of the 2019 version. It's still awfully attractive, with hints of crushed stone and violets lending nuance to the blackberry fruit.
Vinous 90: The medium-bodied 2020 Saint-Joseph unwinds with spice-box, cedar, black cherry and black plum aromatics. Offering solid flavor concentration neatly framed by ripe tannins, it concludes with drive on the juicy finish. Very elegant.
