Burghound 88-91: A more deeply pitched and much spicier nose features aromas of plum, dark currant, violet and exotic tea nuances. The velvety, round and delicious middle weight flavors are at once generously proportioned and punchy while concluding in a dusty, firm and youthfully austere finale. In contrast to the Bourgogne, this will need at least a few years of keeping.
Vinous 87-89: The 2023 Vosne-Romanée Village is refined on the nose with perfumed red berry fruit laced with wilted rose petals. It has fine delineation. The palate is medium-bodied with slightly granular tannins. It's quite spicy, with just a touch of curry leaf toward the finish where the fruit turns a little blacker. There's a bit of muscle here, so afford it a couple of years in bottle.
