Burghound 90-92: This is the first wine to display reductive notes and they're enough to dominate all but a hint of spice. Otherwise, there is very good volume and mid-palate density to the sleek and equally seductively textured flavors that exude a subtle minerality on the balanced and lingering finale that is slightly more firmly structured. This too could use better depth though again, that should reasonably occur with patience.
Vinous 89-91: The 2021 Vosne-Romanée Les Petit Monts 1er Cru has quite a perfumed nose with dried rose petal filtering through the brambly red fruit, touches of tobacco. The palate is livelier than the Les Chaumes with more tension, moderate weight with a slightly oaky finish.
