Pio Cesare Barbera d'Alba DOC
Pio Cesare Barbera d'Alba DOC
The Barbera grapes from the Barolo and Barbaresco regions give to our classic Barbera a uniquely great structure, full body, complexity, smooth character, ripe fruit, spices and a very long life.
2020
Wine Advocate 89: Opening to a darkly concentrated appearance, the 2020 Barbera d'Alba is layered with soft fruit, preserved blackberry and dark plummy jam. The wine is softly textured and rich with a point of bright acidity on the close. The wine’s related texture could pair with crunchy food like veal steaks fried in a bread-crumb batter.
James Suckling 92: A medium-bodied barbera with crushed berries, spices, roses and hints of soil. Creamy tannins. Excellent length and texture. Drink now.
2021
James Suckling 91: A lovely and fresh barbera with crushed raspberries, blueberries and crushed stones. Medium body. Fine tannins and a bright finish. A firmness and focus to this. Drink now.
