Wine Advocate 92: Fresh and elegant, the 2021 Châteauneuf-du-Pape offers up aromas of dark berries, orange peel, spices, fresh licorice and flowers. Medium- to full-bodied, velvety and enveloping, it’s well balanced, with a juicy mid-palate framed by sweet tannins, concluding with a long, gently ethereal finish.
Vinous 90-92: The 2021 is gentler and more elegant compared to the surrounding vintages. Swirling the glass unlocks pleasant spice box, licorice, ripe strawberry and black cherry elements. Medium- to full-bodied and refined, the 2021 finishes with good persistence.
Wine Advocate 92: Broodier and more introverted than the Gigondas, the 2022 Châteauneuf-du-Pape wafts from the glass with aromas of dark cherries, gentian, spices and baked dark berries. Medium- to full-bodied, structured and dense, it’s a touch firm on the mid-palate, concluding with a spicy, fresh-thyme–inflected finish.
Vinous 91-93: The 2022 exhibits ripe raspberry, strawberry, cranberry and dried herbs. Orange rind adds another layer. Hitting the palate with a juicy core of fruit, the 2022 is a harmonious and expressive Châteauneuf-du-Pape with secure aging potential.
