Burghound 91♥: Cool, airy and elegant floral-suffused aromas of violet, lilac, black raspberry and discreet spice wisps are trimmed in barely enough wood to notice. There is a bit more energy if not concentration to the utterly delicious and caressing medium weight flavors that exude a subtle minerality on the more complex youthfully austere finale. This is really quite lovely and fashioned in an understated style though note that at least some patience will be needed here as well.

Wine Advocate 91-93: The 2024 Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru Clos Saint-Jean emerges from the glass with aromas of Granny Smith apple, white flowers, lemon oil and nashi pear. On the palate, it is medium- to full-bodied, chiseled and racy, with an incisive spine of acidity and a long, mouthwatering finish. It is, by all means, more electric than Les Champs Gain, and this is especially evident in 2024. Thierry Pillot is the largest landowner in this vineyard, possessing fully 2.2 hectares.

Vinous 92-94: The 2024 Chassagne-Montrachet Clos Saint-Jean ler Cru has a discrete nose at first, one that gains intensity, crushed stone and cool glade scents. Superb delineation. The palate is well balanced with a tangy opening, just a hint of tangerine and apricot, real weight and substance towards the finish. Perhaps it just needs a little more to come through on the aftertaste? Otherwise another superb Chassagne-Montrachet from Thierry Pillot.
